all in the family

Via my mother comes a peice written by my grandmother—My Mother’s Buttons, by Ruth Jacobson. She’s writing, of course, about my great grandmother, Signe Hanson, who was a spectacular person and made a strong impact on all of us, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, etc.

This essay is very touching, and it’s wonderful to see my grandmother writing. I hope this is just a sign of things to come.

That is a great story that your grandma wrote. If she's interested in having it published in an online zine, let me know. I am the editor for the nonfiction department of Moondance Magazine and would be interested in it. There's no pay or anything, but we have a wide readership and I think this would have broad appeal. Let me know. Thanks for sharing the piece. :) Nikki

Thanks, Nikki. I'll pass that on. I think her current goal is to get is published in hard-copy. I'm not certain who/where she's submitting too, though. What's the URL for Moondance?

Ok, so I looked it up. :-) Is http://www.moondance.org/2002/summer02/nonfiction/index.html it? (dunno why I can't link this line. I may have html disabled in comments... )

Yeah, that's it.
